Dr. Martha Capreol

Dr. Martha Capreol, R.Psych. received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Psychologist. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT-ACTCC). Dr. Capreol is committed to an evidence-based approach to both her clinical practice and teaching. Her clinical work emphasizes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, stress related problems (coping with major life changes, trauma, pain, chronic illness) and everyday problems such as parenting stress. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults in both clinical and community settings.

In addition to her work with CBT Connections Ltd., she currently works as a Psychologist at the Changeways Clinic in Vancouver, British Columbia and previously worked at the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic. Dr. Capreol is particularly interested in health promotion and education. Her experience as an educator includes teaching upper year Health Psychology classes at the University of British Columbia and Introduction to Psychology at Douglas College. She has been involved in research investigating social anxiety and agoraphobia in adults, and stress, coping and social support in step-families and has authored academic articles. In addition, she works as a consultant and has developed a variety of mental health promotion literature on behalf of the BC Partners for Mental Health and Addictions Information, including the Eating and Living Well Wellness Module. In addition, Dr. Capreol is a consultant and media contact for AnxietyBC and was one of the developers of their Perinatal Anxiety website.
